Twists

Twists is a rules-light role-playing game for 2-6 players (and zero game masters) who want to storytell their way through some sort of team-based mission. The mission itself can take place in whatever setting the group thinks would be interesting, funny, relatable, or exciting.

One of my goals for writing this game is to encourage more players to lean into their characters' perceived shortcomings.  There’s a tendency for some players to think about certain aspects of their characters as “flaws,” and to have those characters avoid taking  gameplay actions involving those traits.  My experience is that characters facing and (maybe) overcoming internal adversity, and challenging their self-perceptions, can result in stories that are uniquely complicated, nuanced, and memorable.
